  3. Using the Tutorials and Source Files

  5. The video tutorials on this CD-ROM disc are in QuickTime format. To view them, you must have the latest version of QuickTime (version 4) installed on your machine. (This is a common piece of software; you may have it on your machine already.)

  7. For your convenience, the QuickTime 4 installer is included on this CD-ROM.

  9. You will find the tutorials for specific chapters in folders on the CD-ROM with corresponding names. Most tutorials consist of a QuickTime video tutorial and a source file. To view a video tutorial, simply double-click its name. The QuickTime Player will start up, and the tutorial will begin to play. Use the QuickTime Player controls to manage playback of the tutorial. You can play, stop, rewind, fast-forward, and skip to specific parts of the tutorial using these controls.

  11. Double-clicking a Flash source file opens the file in the Flash authoring environment. The source files are compatible only with Flash 4 and will not open properly in older versions of the program.

  13. The CD-ROM includes a 30-day trial version of Flash 4 for your convenience-along with trial versions of other Macromedia applications.
